About Joe
Im first and foremost a dad to two little whirlpools of joy Ayda and Margo and a husband to my lovely wife Jen. I love having family and friends round on a Sunday, a game of footy on a Saturday, whether it be playing or watching. Ive recently turned into a full time tickle monster and I love nothing more than lazing on the sofa with my girls or taking them away camping, cooking on a bbq, pulling silly faces for a camera and watching the sun go down. Simple things that make us smile. Most of all I love life and the randomness of it all.
Photographic passion
At the age of 18 in Sydney harbour I fell in love with photography (albeit with a small compact camera) and now I feel totally honoured to be able to call it my profession. I love people, love light, love visiting new places and love seeing the world through different perspectives. My photography is my perspective on the world and events as I see them. My passion lies in travel and street photography and this has left an imprint on my photographic style, especially with the candid approach I take to weddings. Using natural light wherever I can get away with it and predominantly shooting fixed lenses.
Career
My photographic career began working in nightclubs, it was the best grounding I could have undertaken. The ever changing lighting left little time to get to grips with some pretty challenging conditions, thinking on the spot became a necessity and knowing your way around a camera essential.
I very quickly progressed into the world of lifestyle photography, photographing young families and more readily weddings. I have photographed over 300 weddings and been fortunate enough to cover weddings in all corners of the UK and Ireland to Tuscany, Sweden and Spain.
The nerves and thrill of shooting a wedding have never left me. The fast pace of documenting a day, along with the human connections we make, really does make it a challenging and very fulfilling career.
Alongside my wedding career, my corporate photography career has gone from strength to strength covering events all over Europe. From London, Paris, Madrid, Vienna, Amsterdam and this year Chicago to shooting for the NHS with images exhibited in the House of Commons as an example of a best in practise advertising campaign.
